To take an intermediate level course, you much provide proof of at least three three standard levels (including unarmed) at merit or above, examined by an Equity recognised exam board.
Taught by an Equity Fight Director, and apprentice teachers from the ACTT, this three-day intensive training course is designed with actors and performers in mind; you will learn and develop your ability to learn and perform combat and violent actions safely and effectively.
The Sword is an iconic weapon; it carries with it images of heroics, cultural identity, fashion and larger than life characters. It’s no wonder than audiences are drawn towards it, and production after production draws on this imagery. The sword can be a lifelong passion and study for some characters - as a performer, we must give its study due respect.
At Intermediate level, we will focus on a particular type of sword, and how to make the most of how the weapon is optimised. On this course, the deceptively nimble two-handed Longsword
Examined by ACTT; all qualifications earned are Spotlight accredited
Discounts are available at checkout for Sword & Scoundrel members, ACTT members, and Equity members
